A small caps generator turns ordinary text into Unicode small capitals — letters that look like shrunken uppercase characters but are real, copy-and-pasteable symbols rather than a font you have to install. The output works in places that normally lock you to a single typeface, such as social media bios, usernames, display names, captions and chat messages. Type on the left, see the small caps update live on the right, and copy the exact variant you want with one click.

How it works

Each lowercase letter is mapped to its matching Latin Letter Small Capital glyph from the Unicode standard. For example, the letter a becomes the small capital at code point U+1D00, b maps to U+0299, and so on through the alphabet. These glyphs live in several scattered Unicode blocks, so the tool uses an explicit, verified lookup table rather than a simple offset. Mixed-case and uppercase input is folded down first, because small caps have no separate upper and lower case of their own.

There is one deliberate exception: Unicode never defined a small-capital X. To keep the conversion fully reversible, the tool leaves x as a normal lowercase x instead of swapping in a lookalike, and it flags this in the output when your text contains an x. Spaces, numbers, emoji and punctuation always pass straight through unchanged.

The generator also offers several looks at once. The main output respects your chosen case mode — all small caps, title case with normal capital first letters, or a mode that preserves your typed casing. Below that, a set of style variants gives you a plain version, a letter-spaced version for an airy header feel, and a bracketed version framed with decorative half-brackets. Every block has its own copy button. A reverse mode decodes small caps back into plain lowercase text, which is handy when you have copied styled text from elsewhere and want it readable again.

Example

Typing small caps generator produces small capitals that read the same way but in the miniature-capital style. Switch to title mode and the first letter of each word stays a full-size capital while the rest drop to small caps, giving you a refined Sᴍᴀʟʟ Cᴀᴘs Gᴇɴᴇʀᴀᴛᴏʀ look. The letter-spaced variant adds breathing room between characters for headers, and the bracketed variant wraps the phrase in tidy half-brackets for usernames. Paste any of them into a profile bio and the styling survives, because these are characters, not formatting.

Everything is computed in your browser from built-in character maps — no text is ever uploaded or stored.
