How many days until my birthday?

Enter your date of birth and the countdown shows the exact days, hours and minutes remaining until your next birthday. It automatically rolls over to next year once this year's birthday has passed.

The Birthday Countdown Calculator shows a live countdown to your next birthday — days, hours, minutes and seconds — plus the exact date, the weekday it lands on, and the age you’ll turn. It’s the instant answer to “how many days until my birthday?” and runs entirely in your browser.

Automatic year roll-over

Enter your date of birth and the tool finds your next birthday: if this year’s has already passed, it counts down to next year’s automatically. The seconds tick down in real time while the page is open, using your device’s clock.

What it tells you

  • Live countdown — days, hours, minutes and seconds remaining
  • Exact date — the full calendar date of your next birthday
  • Weekday — which day of the week it falls on (handy for party planning)
  • Age you’ll turn — calculated from your birth year

Everything is calculated locally in your browser, so your date of birth is never uploaded or stored.

How the calculation works

The tool takes your date of birth and constructs a candidate birthday in the current calendar year using the same day and month. If that date is today or still in the future, it uses it directly. If it has already passed, it advances the year by one. The difference between right now (from your device clock) and that future birthday is expressed in full days, hours, minutes, and seconds, updating every second.

For people born on 29 February, the tool advances to the next available 29 February in a leap year — so the countdown between leap years is approximately four years, not one.

Practical uses beyond “how many days”

  • Party planning — knowing the exact weekday lets you choose a nearby Saturday or Sunday for a celebration rather than being surprised that the big day falls on a Tuesday.
  • Booking ahead — restaurants, venues, and activity providers often fill up weeks in advance. Knowing you have 47 days gives a concrete booking target.
  • Milestone birthdays — the age-you’ll-turn display makes it easy to confirm the arithmetic for a significant birthday (30th, 40th, 50th) without counting back years manually.
  • Gifting reminders — if you check this periodically for friends and family, the day-count is a natural cue for when to order a gift with delivery time factored in.
  • Sharing the countdown — because the page is publicly shareable and runs client-side, you can link a friend directly to the page and ask them to enter their own date.

A note on time zones

The countdown uses your device’s local clock and date, so it reflects your local midnight, not a fixed UTC boundary. If you are counting down for someone in a different time zone, bear in mind that their birthday starts at a different moment in your local time.
