The Math Worksheet Generator builds printable arithmetic practice sheets in seconds — addition, subtraction, multiplication and division — with a matching answer key. It is made for teachers running daily drills, parents reinforcing times tables at home, and tutors who need a fresh set of problems for every session without retyping anything. Pick the operations, set the number ranges to match the grade level, choose how many problems you want, and download a clean PDF ready for the printer.

How it works

You start by ticking the operations you want on the sheet. Problems are then drawn at random from just those operations, so you can produce a pure multiplication sheet, an addition-and-subtraction review, or a fully mixed page. The difficulty is driven entirely by the number ranges: give a minimum and maximum for the first operand and for the second, and the generator keeps every problem inside those bounds.

A few guard rails keep the sheets sensible. “No negative answers” swaps the operands in subtraction so the result never drops below zero — ideal for younger pupils. “Whole-number division only” constructs each division problem from a quotient multiplied by a divisor, guaranteeing an exact answer. You can also add a name and date line to the top of the printout.

Every worksheet is generated from a seed. Leave it blank for a fresh random page each time, or type any word or number and the same settings will always rebuild the identical problems — so you can print matching copies for a whole class or come back tomorrow and recreate yesterday’s sheet exactly. When you are happy with the live preview, export a worksheet PDF, a worksheet-plus-answer-key PDF, or a CSV of the answers for your gradebook. Your settings are remembered in this browser between visits.

Example

Suppose a teacher wants a Year 4 times-table sheet. They tick Multiplication only, set both operands to a range of 2 to 12, choose 24 problems in a 3-column layout, and add a name line. One click on Generate fills the preview with problems such as 7 × 8 = and 11 × 4 =. The teacher then exports PDF + answer key: page one is the clean worksheet, page two is the answer key with every product printed in red.
